Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Is lunch provided?

A. Unfortunately, no. Please bring your lunch.

Q. Is this event open to students of all ages?

A. Unfortunately, no. At this time we are focusing on students in grades 9 through 12. However, there will be an event held at Seattle Maritime Academy on May 12th, 2018, put on by the Seattle Propeller Club, that is aimed more at younger participants and their families. Please make other arrangements if you have students younger than high school if you are planning on attending SOUND Day.

Q. Can I send my students to the event without a chaperone? There will be tons of other adults there.

A. Due to the nature of rotating around activity stations at the event and for safety reasons we require each registered group to have a student to chaperone ratio of at least Ten to One.

Q. Is this an outdoor or indoor event?

A. This event is held both indoors and outdoors and will take place rain or shine. Please make sure to dress accordingly for the weather that day. Seattle weather is fairly fickle in March so come prepared!

Q. Is lunch provided?

A. Lunch will not be provided but there will be snacks available to all participants and chaperones.

Q. Do you have to have previous experience or knowledge of the maritime industry?

A. Absolutely not. This is a great event for those just learning about maritime and marine science and will help expand on those with previous interest.

Q. Will there be parking available/ drop off space for busses.

A. Yes. There is public parking in front of Seattle Maritime Academy. We will have space set aside for buses and group transportation on the day of the event.
